O dear o dear o dear. When a game is called "Top Gear", you expect a little more from it than this. Why is it called top gear, i hear you cry? Well i can tell you - it's because you stand no bloody chance at all of winning unless you are in the aforementioned top gear. You see, there are no automatic cars in this game - all control of gears is governed by the shoulder buttons and is crucial to your success.

Ok, so why does this make it a poor game? BECAUSE EVERYTHING RELIES ON IT. once you make a mistake in a race and dont qualify for the next race, thats you - out of the competition. If you somehow manage to stay in top gear the whole way through, there are some computer cars who only seem to serve the purpose of blocking your path and making you drop down a few gears/ This isnt just bad for convenience - it also is very hard on your fuel.

So the basic and hard fact is that in order to win the game, dont crash. At all. Now where's the fun in that? I mean honestly? It is pretty much impossible to win in one of these races onse you're hit, which means an entire competition may be ruined due to one split second of concentration lapse.

Some of you may find this as the thing which makes a game. Personally i think that makes you very sick individuals. Sleepless nights spent up, only to be thwarted by a little nudge at the last hurdle - and i dont even like the bloody game. No, people - this game is wrong - so very wrong and it tears at the very fabric of what righteousness is left. Oh and did i mention that every time you do mess up, there is no way to skip past the menus quickly to start again? Well it does! And that really annoys the hell out of me too. Stay well away, friends.

Graphics

4/10
Good enough i suppose but not great. Making it impossible to race full screen is another annoyance - that screenshot is one player.
Difficulty

7/10
Very difficult, yes, but who really cares when a game is this cack?
Sound

3/10
Annoying sounds - or is that just because of the game? either way, lets blame the sound too.
Playability

4/10
Bloody awful - too slow and only about 5 possible bloody positions to be on in the road - feels too griddy and completely unsmooth.

I think Top Gear is a good game. Ok, it is hard, even on the easiest difficulty. But when you play it on "easy" it is fun and with a little over average skills beatable, too. Music is also very good and at least 7/10.

I have disagree. Top Gear is a great classic with great memorable bgm similar to the tunes of Outrun and 2-player gameplay that was unprecedented at the time.

Strongly disagree with the score that is givin. This is a fun and classic game, but there are aspects that aren't very good about this game, but not enough to make it THAT low of a rating.
